Mode of action:
Branched chain amino acid synthesis (ALS or AHAS) inhibitor. Acts by inhibiting biosynthesis of the essential amino acids valine and isoleucine, hence stopping cell division and plant growth. Mefenpyr-diethyl enhances metabolism of the herbicide selectively in cereal crop plants.
