Mode of action:
Branched chain amino acid synthesis (ALS or AHAS) inhibitor. Acts by inhibiting biosynthesis of the essential amino acids valine and isoleucine, hence stopping cell division and plant growth.
Announcements:
Selectivity to cereals is due to differential degradation, compared with that in grass weeds, which is enhanced by addition of the safener mefenpyr-diethyl (q.v.)
